MacDonalds blames videogames for obesity !?!??!?!

Filed in Life 4 comments

Can you believe that? MacDonalds, one of the majorly known sources of obesity, has decided to take a stance for themselves. And how do they do that? By blaming another contender in the source of issues. Games.

Well, games have taken up a stronghold in homes around the world. And people do spend a lot of time going through them. And yes, they have their share of problems (strains, exhaustions from long hours of play etc.). But when MacDonalds decides to bring out a comment like this, it makes one think. And that too against obesity. Its like MacDonalds telling that “we are not the only people responsible for a situation like this…blame him too” and they are trying to bring the ‘slick’ man into the zone.

But when you think about it, you will have a notion. “They maybe right” !

I know a lot of people who sit with games on hours and munch stuff by the side. Frankly speaking even i do. But i do not fall into “the obesity” or “problems caused by games” class. And so do those people. But in most cases, people (gamers) can be the ones to blame too. Their eating and gaming habits plays a major part in how they will look like. And yes, their gaming addiction plays a factor.

But that doesnt mean that i would be completely not in accordance with MacD. What they claim can be true too. Like when you play games and eat MacDonalds by the side. Then you might get a chance to raise your kilos… lol…

Take care.

Another factor is the sense of laziness that intense video gamers often get (especially those involved in MMORPGS) – they put the game at the top of their priorities that they neglect other things in life, let it be schoolwork, health, socializing, etc. They eventually don’t care what they eat, as long as it temporarily satisfies the hunger so they can play the game for a few more hours and then sleep. So, McDonalds (and ordering out in general) can contribute to it.

Though, I don’t think it’s the “fault” of McDonalds, and there are gamers I know who play responsibly and live a balanced life. It’s the “fault” of the individuals for digging themselves into a hole where they can’t escape, and the only thing they can do to maintain their dignity is to put the blame on external things – let it be fast food, or video games for being too addictive, etc.
