Google Reader’s alternative : Feedly

Filed in Internet 0 comments

A cousin of mine recently came to me with a situation. Google Reader was shutting down its services by July 2013 and she wanted to know how she can export all her saves and notes so that it can be easily migrate-able to something else..something close to Google Reader.

Well, frankly, I never used Google Reader (My first reaction was Google What?) . I was mostly settled with Feedly for my PC  (Chrome) and Pulse Newsreader for my Android. (Update: Now I got Feedly for Android too).

And yea, I have seen at times that option to ‘Connect to Google Reader’ from feedly. But instead I used it directly.

Now since GR is shutting down, I bet a good amount of people would be looking for alternatives. And I have to tell you, Feedly is the best bet out there. And it syncs with Google.

Feedly is nothing but a RSS reader that ‘streams’ all your RSS subscriptions and even your favorite websites and brings them into a single magazine themed page. You don’t have to go flitting around countless websites every day and so. Just click up Feedly Today, and you got fresh readable stuff by the tones for your liking.

The favorite part of this tool for me is that you can add your favorite sites by searching for them in the ADD CONTENT section.

Feedly is a great tool overall if you do a lot of reading. And when you have it installed for Chrome as your homepage, you wouldn’t have to head anywhere else either. 🙂

Happy Reading.
